Auf der Website der Edwardian Teddy Boy Association gibt’s tolle Fotos von Teddyboys und -girls zu sehen. Ich finde es echt bewundernswert, wie stylish und elegant die Mädels aussehen – und das inmitten von Nachkriegstrümmern und mit kaum Geld in der Tasche!

Manchmal beneide ich die Briten. Nein, nicht um ihr Wetter, sondern um Veranstaltungen wie das Vintage at Goodwood Festival, das dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal stattfand. Drei Tage lang Musik, Mode und alles drumherum aus den letzten 5 Jahrzehnten. Wie diese Fotogalerie zeigt, scheint es eine spaßige und stilechte Sache gewesen zu sein – bis hin zum Tanztee, wo es keine Pappbecher, sondern Porzellantassen gab … Falls es das Festival nächstes Jahr noch gibt, würde ich gerne mal hinfahren. In einem Land, wo es Pencil Skirts im Supermarkt gibt (seufz), ist eben alles möglich …

Sometimes I really envy the British. Not because of the weather, but because of events like the Vintage at Goodwood Festival which took place for the first time this year. Three days of music, fashion and other cool stuff from the last 5 decades. As you can see in this photo gallery, it was a lot of fun and a very stylish event. They even had china cups instead of paper cups in the tea dance tent … I’d love to find out whether they’ll be having the festival again next year, would be great to see it. But after all, anything is possible in a country where they sell pencil skirts at the local supermarket – can anyone order one for me???
